Grand Opening this Sunday at 9:15 & 11:15 AM!
We’ve been praying, planning, working, and finalizing for 8 months…this Sunday is the first Grand Opening of Mercy Road Church’s new facility! (10505 N. College Ave, Indianapolis 46280) I’m beyond excited and I know our team is too! Thanks for praying, inviting, serving, and praying more for this Sunday. I’d like to answer a few questions about the event:
1. What is the Grand Opening? – Mercy Road Church started a year and a half ago as a new ...
Mercy Road Church is going to TWO SERVICES THIS SUNDAY! (9:15 & 11:15 AM)
Wow, what a first week at the new facility! We ran out of parking spots, set an attendance record, and most importantly two more people gave their lives to Christ! I share that only to boast in the Lord and what He’s doing. We’re going to continue to make adjustments (as we prepare for our first Grand Opening on May 5) to make our times of worship an even better opportunity for imperfect people to seek God’s best in their ...

Mercy Road Church is at CLAY MIDDLE SCHOOL THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 7 AT 10:15!
Please share, retweet, and tell everyone you know that Mercy Road Church will be worshiping at Clay Middle School this Sunday (5150 East 126th St., Carmel 46033) and NOT the new facility. The building will most likely be completed by Saturday, but we did not pass inspection this week (nothing major – just a few more fire codes to meet), so rather than scrambling we decided to wait to move to the new facility. We’ll be giving everyone the adjusted ...
Top Ten reasons you’ll never lead someone to Christ.
We started a new teaching series at Mercy Road on Sunday. We’re studying Biblical principles for sharing our faith and had a great first Sunday. I’m amazed at the passion of people to see church be about a life of mission for God and not comfortable, consumerist Christianity. Unfortunately, most Christians have never led someone to know Jesus as their Lord. I don’t share this to condemn or discourage anyone, but the reality is many people ...
Jake’s BBall Skills and Why You Need Spiritual Disciplines
Yesterday, I took my son Jake (4) to the gym. We practiced his basketball skills on the side hoop they have for little kids. I noticed he could make shots on the little goal, but couldn’t dribble the ball to save his life. It’s incredible how quickly kids pick things up though. I showed him how to dribble and we started counting how many times in a row he could bounce like dad. At one point he made it to ...
Will you say a prayer for us?
Over the past few months Mercy Road Church has grown in every way, quickly. It’s the first time I’ve ever led a ministry that had more people worshiping in November and December than in September and October. I sometimes wonder, how did you hear about us and why do you keep coming back? I’m extremely thankful for how God continues to reach new people and connect them to the good works in our communities. But what really gets me ...
Church isn’t dead: A challenge to the uninterested and disenfranchised.
For the past decade I’ve seen an increasing number of Christians and church leaders who have become disgruntled with church. Whether it was because of poor leadership, a moral failure, irrelevance, church politics, impersonal, or a general lack of interest I’ve personally witnessed hundreds of people speak against the current state of American Christianity. I get it. I felt and experienced it. I’ve even been a part of the problem.
But…for those that consider themselves Christians, yet are disenfranchised from organized ...
Cupcake Wars
My wife loves cooking shows…more because she likes to eat then because she likes to cook. Yet I’m the only one that seems to gain weight in our family. I know what it means to eat 5 too many cookies. I’ve seen what poor eating habits has done to my health and energy level at times. I’m not writing this post to discuss the state of physical health in America though. The truth is ...
Fears, Dreams, and Impact
My son Jake loves laughing. He thinks he’s the funniest kid ever…and sometimes his dad thinks he is! I think a lot about, what will Jake want to do with his life when he grows up. How do I protect and lead him, while still allowing him to be who God created him to be…and not who I think he should be? How do I encourage him to pursue God’s dreams for his life?
This Sunday at Mercy ...
